Karachi: Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir ordered action against hoarding of medicines and substandard medicines.
In a statement released from the Chief Minister’s House, it was stated that the Caretaker Chief Minister had a discussion with the Health Minister Dr. Saad Niaz on the issue of shortage of life-saving drugs and the circulation of news related to substandard drugs in the market.
In the meeting chaired by Justice (Rt) Baqir, it was decided that the Health Department will launch a campaign against the drug dealers involved in hoarding and even the Health Department against the manufacturers/dealers and even stores manufacturing and selling substandard drugs. Strict action will also be taken.
Justice (r) Baqir said that those who play with the lives of innocent people should be dealt with iron hands. Apart from this, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh also discussed the issue of Dengue and Malaria with the Health Minister and it was decided to further activate both the programs while the Local Government Department was instructed to start spraying mosquito killers in their respective areas.
