Election in ninety days is a constitutional requirement, Lahore High Court

Lahore: A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the petition filed against the new constituencies, on which the court issued a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan and sought its response.

During the hearing, Justice Saweed Aziz Sheikh remarked that when the census was held in June, why was it not approved for two months?

The lawyer appearing on behalf of the Election Commission informed the court that this issue is already before the Supreme Court.

The Lahore High Court adjourned the hearing till September 6, directing the Election Commission to submit its reply.
