Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted his Syrian counterpart by telephone and expressed regret for the severe loss of life and property due to the earthquake.
According to Express News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has contacted his Syrian counterpart Hussain Arnous by telephone. Will provide possible assistance.
Informing the Prime Minister of Syria about Pakistan’s relief activities for the victims of the earthquake, Shahbaz Sharif said that he has urgently instructed the relevant departments to provide all possible assistance to their Syrian brothers in this difficult time.
He said that the ambassador of Pakistan in Syria is in contact with the Syrian authorities in this regard and Pakistan will soon send a convoy of trucks containing relief items to help the earthquake victims. Pakistan has already sent a consignment of relief supplies including tents, warm clothes and blankets to Syria via a special plane. A medical team will also be dispatched very early in the evening to provide treatment facilities to the injured.
The Prime Minister of Syria thanked Pakistan for showing solidarity with the Syrian people in this difficult time.
