Murtaza Bhutto murder case, hearing of the appeal against the acquittal of the accused after 14 years

Karachi: The appeal against the acquittal of the accused in the Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case came up for hearing after 14 years.

According to the details, the appeal against the acquittal of the accused in the Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case was heard in the High Court after 14 years.

Plaintiff’s lawyers Pir Majeed Danu, Zaheer Soomro and Sajjad Abbasi appeared in the court and filed legal briefs on behalf of the appellant Noor Muhammad Goga. The court adjourned the hearing of the appeals for 3 weeks.

Mir Murtaza Bhutto’s employee Noor Mohammad Goga filed an appeal in 2010 against the acquittal of the accused. In the appeal filed, the stand was taken that on 20 September 1996, Mir Murtaza Bhutto and his associates were brutally murdered.

In December 2009, a subordinate court acquitted 20 police officers. The subordinate court declared Mir Murtaza Bhutto and his accomplices, who were killed by the police, innocent.

The same court acquitted former Chief IB Masood Sharif, former DIG Police Shoaib Sadal (then SSP) Wajid Ali Durrani, (then KSP) late Shahid Hayat and others as innocent.

It should be noted that Inspector Haq Nawaz Syal, the accused in the Murtaza Bhutto murder case, committed suicide.
