New Delhi: In India, a government official repeatedly sexually assaulted a minor daughter by giving her an intoxicating drink, which also got her pregnant.
According to Indian media, Primode Khakha, a senior civil servant of the Department of Women and Child Development, kept her friend’s 14-year-old daughter in his home after her friend’s death in 2020.
The minor girl was suffering from severe depression after the death of her father. He used to have panic attacks in crowds and when leaving the house. So she left school and started studying online.
Meanwhile, the government official told the friend’s wife that he will announce the baby girl, so come home with me. The family started staying at his house, but after only a week, he raped the girl.
Mother and daughter stayed at her house for 5 months and during that time they committed this abominable act several times. The girl went into further depression and was so scared that she could not even tell her mother.
One day when they went to their native area, the girl refused to go back to Premode’s house. The girl was treated there by a psychiatrist and during this time the counselor took the girl into custody.
The girl was taken to the police where she revealed all the truth in her statement.
Primode Khakha, the government officer who sexually assaulted the girl, was arrested and suspended from his post until the investigation is completed.
Delhi Police also arrested the accused’s wife Seema Khakha, who had ordered abortion pills from her 21-year-old son and fed them to the girl when she became pregnant.
Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal termed Premode Khakha as a ‘predator’ and said that if the officer whose job was to protect the daughters of the country and the nation becomes a poacher then where should the unfortunate girls go.
