Karachi: Judicial Magistrate Sharqi accepted the post-mortem request of the woman arrested in the case related to violence against a 12-year-old domestic servant child, handing her over to the police on physical remand.
In Karachi City Court, a case related to violence against a 12-year-old domestic worker was heard in front of the court of Judicial Magistrate Sharqi. The police produced the arrested accused house owner Shirin in the court.
The lawyer of the plaintiff’s case submitted that any video recording at the house of the accused should be taken into custody. DNA samples should be taken and geo-fencing should also be done. A brother of the deceased child is still in a coma in Jinnah Hospital. The accused Salim, who employed children, should be investigated.
The court asked the accused what she does, and how many children she has, the accused told the judge that she does housework and has two children. On this, the court remarked that three employees are employed for two children.
The investigating officer said that there were marks of torture on the child’s body. The court is requested to remand the accused. The court handed over the accused to the police on 5-day physical remand.
The court also approved the request for post-mortem of the child and remarked that the concerned magistrate should constitute a medical board for the post-mortem. According to the police, a case has been registered against the accused in Gulshan Iqbal Police Station on the complaint of the deceased Rafiq’s father.
