3 accused of online loan apps involved in blackmail arrested

Lahore: 3 suspects of online loan apps involved in blackmailing were arrested from Lahore.

Among the arrested accused are Muhammad Sulaiman, Abdul Rehman and Muhammad Owais. The accused used to harass the citizens by making threatening calls from different phone numbers.

The accused were providing loans to citizens through apps like Cash Gain, Wavu Loan, Q Loan, Quick Money, In Money, Easy Money, Zomato Loan etc. The alleged company S Solutions was working as a recovery unit.

The alleged company used to give details of borrowers to agents, who used various blackmailing tactics to collect loans from borrowers.

The latter harassed citizens through edited objectionable photos and voice calls, which were also shared with family and friends on the debtors’ contact list.

A case has been registered against the accused under PICA Act, further investigation is on.
