Colombo Test;  Pakistan wins against Sri Lanka

Pakistan has a lead of 12 runs against Sri Lanka in the second Test match of the series, but the match has been stopped due to bad weather.

Second day

In the first innings of the last Test match of the series being played in Colombo, the entire Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 166 runs, while the national team has gained a lead of 12 runs due to the loss of 2 players.

On behalf of Pakistan, Shan Masood scored 51 off 47 balls and Imamul Haq scored 6 runs, captain Babar Azam scored 28 runs while opener Abdullah Shafiq scored 87 runs and is at the crease.

Both players were dismissed by Ishita Fernando for Sri Lanka.

First day

Yesterday, Sri Lanka returned to the pavilion after scoring just 166 runs in the first innings of the Test match, while Pakistan scored 145 runs for the loss of 2 wickets by the end of the game.

When Pakistan started their first innings, the first wicket of the national team fell on a total score of 13. Opener Imam-ul-Haq returned to the pavilion after scoring 6 runs. Opener Abdullah Shafiq and Shaan Masood both completed half-centuries, with Shaan Masood getting out for 51 runs.

Pakistan need 21 more runs to end Sri Lanka’s first innings lead. Abdullah Shafiq is not out on 74 and Babar Azam on 8 runs.

Earlier, when Sri Lanka started batting, opener Nishan Madushka was run out on the score of 9 runs, he scored 4 runs. Kisal Mendis, who came after him, scored 6 runs and took a catch on Shaheen Shah Afridi’s ball.

Sri Lanka’s third wicket fell on a total score of 35, here Angelo Mathews was caught off Naseem Shah for 9 runs. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne scored 17 runs and was bowled by Naseem Shah.

After the fall of the fourth wicket, the fifth wicket partnership between Dinesh Chandimala and Dhananjaya de Silva scored 85 runs but lost the wicket for 34 runs in a total score of 121.

With the dismissal of Dinesh Chandimill, the Sri Lankan batting line-up faltered and the sixth wicket fell to 122 runs and the seventh wicket to 133 runs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sudira Samaravikrama was out for zero and Dhananjaya de Silva scored 57 runs. The eighth wicket of the host team fell on 136 runs, the ninth wicket on 163 runs and the last wicket on 166 runs.

On behalf of the national team, leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed took 4 wickets while Naseem Shah took 3 wickets and Shaheen Shah Afridi took one wicket.

The match is being played in Colombo while the first day’s play was delayed due to rain.

Pakistan have made no changes to their squad while Sri Lankan left-arm bowler Dilshan Madhu Shanaka makes his debut in the team. Apart from this, Asitha Fernando has been included in the team.
