A police officer in India committed suicide after killing his wife and nephew.
According to Indian media reports, the incident took place in the city of Pune in the state of Maharashtra.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bharat Gaikwad shot his wife and nephew at his home in the afternoon, police officials said.
Officials further said that investigations are on to find out the reason behind the murder and suicide.
Officials said that the police officer killed the wife by shooting her in the head while returning home after duty. Hearing the sound of gunshots, as soon as her son and nephew opened the door of the room, he opened fire on them as well, resulting in the nephew also being killed by a bullet in the chest.
Immediately after the firing, ACP Bharat Gaikwad committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. All three persons died at the same time.
