14 killed in clash between Myanmar army and rebels

Yangon: Myanmar’s military government raided Sagaing, the stronghold of its opponents, and killed 14 protesters.

Two local residents told the media that the army had come to arrest PDF commanders, during which 14 people including 6 militants of the armed group were killed in the clash.

It should be noted that thousands of people have been killed so far in the bloody crackdown by the Myanmar army against dissent.

Myanmar has long battled the junta’s anti-insurgency People’s Defense Force (PDF) militia, as well as ethnic rebel soldiers who control the region near the country’s borders.

A senior army officer, on condition of anonymity, has said that in recent days, fighting has been going on in different parts of the country in addition to China, Karen and Kiah, Sagang and Magway.
