Bollywood filmmaker Kabir Khan has revealed that late actor Irrfan Khan cried after watching Nawazuddin’s scene in the movie New York.
According to an Indian media report, Kabir Khan has shared an incident from the 2009 film ‘New York’ based on the lead roles of John Abraham and Katrina Kaif.
He said that Irfan Khan asked me to show the scene of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s single take.
The filmmaker added that when Irrfan Khan saw Nawazuddin’s performance, he fell in love and hugged Nawaz.
He said that Nawazuddin Siddiqui was signed for a short role in the film, he played the role of a suspect who was arrested and tortured in custody.
Kabir Khan said that Nawazuddin Siddiqui did a scene of three to four minutes continuously, I did not even have to take another take for it.
He added that when I said cut when the scene was over, many people had tears in their eyes and some were clapping.
The filmmaker said, “I remember that day after half an hour, Irfan Siddiqui came running to me and said that everyone is talking about Nawazuddin’s performance.”
He said that then I showed the screen to Irfan Khan, he cried after seeing the scene, he gave voice to Nawazuddin and hugged him. It was a memorable moment.
At that time, Nawazuddin’s talent was revealed, then I did the blockbuster film Bajrangi Bhaijaan with him in 2015, starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
