The accused were arrested by the cyber crime circle
Lahore: 5 suspects of different groups who were robbing citizens by pretending to be police officers were arrested.
The suspects arrested by Cyber Crime Circle Faisalabad used to call citizens pretending to be police officers and extort money by informing them about the fake arrest of a relative. The arrested accused had collected 12 lakh rupees from various complainants.
The accused used to use fake EasyPaisa and Jazcash accounts to recover the required amount. The raid team recovered mobile phones from the possession of the accused. The accused also used recorded wireless voice to lure people into their trap.
Among the arrested accused are Muhammad Munir, Ansar Abbas, Aamir, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Aslam, who have been arrested from Jhang. Cases have been registered against the accused under the YICA Act and further investigation has been started.
