Islamabad: ANF has thwarted drug smuggling attempts by Saudi Arabia and Qatar in various operations.
According to the spokesperson of the Anti-Narcotics Force, ANF’s nationwide operations against drugs are continuing. In this regard, 25 kg of drugs were recovered in 4 different operations and 6 suspects were arrested.
2 suspects, residents of Bonir and Mardan, who were going to Jeddah by Gf-771 at Islamabad Airport, were arrested and 1 kg of 200 grams of ice was recovered from their trolley bag.
In another operation, 4 kg 800 grams of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near Burhan Interchange Attock, which was hidden in a secret compartment built in the vehicle. The authorities arrested the accused, a resident of Kohistan.
Meanwhile, 2 accused residents of Swabi and Lahore were arrested after recovering a total of 18 kg of opium from 2 vehicles at Sheikhupura Motorway Toll Plaza.
Meanwhile, a passenger who was going to Qatar by flight number QR-617 was arrested at Multan International Airport. 999 grams of ice hidden in the trolley bag of the accused resident of Gujarat was recovered.
According to ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against all the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act and further investigation has been started.
