King Mohammed VI of Morocco has invited Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for an official visit to Morocco.
A few days ago, Israel recognized the sovereignty of Morocco in the Western Sahara region.
A statement issued by Netanyahu’s office said that the date for the visit is in the process of being decided. This will be the first visit of any Israeli prime minister to Morocco.
King Mohammed VI thanked the Israeli prime minister for recognizing Morocco’s sovereignty in Western Sahara and considering opening a consulate in the interior city.
He said that the issue of Sahara region is our national issue and it is a matter of priority in foreign policy.
King Mohammed said that his decision is far-reaching because it corresponds to the recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty in the Sahara region by many countries.
