More than 100 employees of the famous American fast food chain, which makes burgers in the UK, have complained about sexual abuse, harassment and a racist environment at work.
According to the report of the British Broadcasting Corporation, some of these employees are less than 17 years old.
According to the report, the broadcaster launched an investigation into the working conditions of employees at the company after the food chain signed a legal agreement with the Equity and Human Rights Commission (HRC) and Committed to protecting its employees from sexual harassment.
More than 100 serious allegations were made by employees, including 31 allegations of sexual assault and 78 allegations of harassment.
The British Human Rights Organization has expressed concern over the report. The fast food chain admitted to not maintaining high standards while working.
The fast food chain said it was ‘deeply sorry’. Allegations of sexual abuse, harassment and racism will be investigated.
The American fast food chain added that all employees deserve to be employed in a safe, respectful and equal opportunity workplace.
