Germany says that by 2025, its military division will be the most well-armed and equipped division in NATO.
Germany’s army chief, Alfons Mies, while talking to a foreign news agency, said that after the Russian attack on Ukraine, European countries are equipping their military forces with modern weapons.
Currently, Germany does not have a single combat division in NATO, a combat division is a military unit with more than 20,000 personnel.
Berlin says that the first combat division will be ready in 2025 and the second in 2027.
The army chief said that Germany will provide NATO with two mechanized brigades, first with light weapons and later with medium weapons.
“That will be enough,” he said, “we want to provide NATO allies with the best-equipped divisions by 2025.”
It should be noted that a military division is that part of the army that works for offensive and defensive purposes in case of ground war.
