On Sunday, more than 2,600 flights were canceled and around 8,000 were postponed due to the storm in the United States.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, most flights were canceled in the Northeast. While 1320 flights were canceled from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
Ground operations at John F. Kennedy Airport and LaGuardia Airport were suspended due to severe weather.
Airlines issued advisories on Twitter and instructed passengers to check flight times and weather conditions before arriving at the airport.
It should be noted that there are heavy rains and floods in the northeastern states of America.
New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Vermont are at risk of flooding.
On the other hand, the western and southern states are experiencing intense heat, with mercury reaching record levels.
