Toronto: Thousands of Sikhs flocked to vote in the second phase of the Khalistan referendum in Canada, the first voting for the referendum since the murder of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Najar.
According to the details, voting was held in Malton, Ontario for the second phase of the Khalistan Referendum in Canada under the auspices of Sikhs for Justice.
Voting started after prayer at nine in the morning, thousands of people stood in queues to vote before the voting started.
After the murder of Khalistan supporter Hardeep Singh Nagar, Sikhs’ spirit of freedom got a new boost, more than 42 thousand Sikhs queued for hours and voted, the center designated for voting has been named as Mahendra Singh Khalsa.
The people who came to vote carried the flags of Khalistan, the participants kept shouting slogans in favor of independence, this is the first voting for the referendum in Canada after the murder of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Najar.
After the killing of Hardeep Singh, India’s misconception that the Khalistan movement would die was removed. Hardeep Singh, the leader of the Khalistan movement in Canada, was killed a month before the referendum.
Sikh General Consul for Justice Gurptunat Singh Pannu said that the killing of Hardeep Singh Najar by India has intensified the freedom movement, and will respond to India’s violence with force.
Sikh leaders say that India, fearing the creation of Khalistan, used its agencies to remove Hardeep Singh Nagar from the path. India is also suspected of involvement behind the mysterious death of a Sikh leader in Birmingham.
Sikhs for Justice said that the Indian High Commissioner in Canada had threatened that pro-India Indians would respond violently.
It should be remembered that Sikhs for Justice demanded the Canadian Prime Minister to expel the Indian High Commissioner for interfering in the rights of Sikhs. had said that millions of Indians would contest the referendum in Greater Toronto.
Last week, Sikhs for Justice held rallies across India in Britain, Canada, the US and Italy, and released pictures of Indian diplomats allegedly involved in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nagar.
Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met with his Canadian counterpart 24 hours before the referendum vote, in which Canada assured to ensure the safety of Indian diplomats.
It should be remembered that more than one million Sikhs have voted in the Khalistan referendum in different countries of the world, including the United Kingdom.
