Osaka, Japan: Experts have recently discovered that strawberries prevent the accumulation of fat deposits in the body that can cause heart attacks and strokes.
According to global media reports, strawberries rich in vitamin C prevent the blockage of arteries caused by high cholesterol and studies have shown that these benefits of strawberries can be achieved within an hour of eating them.
Scientists at Setsunan University in Japan wanted to see how eating strawberries affected health. For this, they included 23 healthy volunteers around the age of 20 in the research, some of whom were given a drink made of 500 grams of strawberries and others were given a drink made of ordinary sugar. Half an hour later they took blood samples. This process was repeated every 30 minutes for four hours.
The results of the study, published in the Journal of Nutritional Science, found that people who were served a strawberry drink had significantly lower levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the bad cholesterol, than those who were given a strawberry drink. Consumed a simple sugary drink. These healthy results appeared within just an hour of drinking strawberries.
LDL is a harmful form of cholesterol that causes narrowing and blocking of blood vessels which can eventually lead to heart attack or stroke.
