South Korean President Yoon Suk Yul has announced 150 million dollars in aid to Ukraine in a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He said that last year aid of 100 million dollars was given, which will be increased to 150 million dollars this year.
South Korea will provide Ukraine with the necessary equipment and military support to save human lives, which will not include weapons.
South Korea is the world’s 9th largest arms exporter, but has a policy of not selling weapons to war-torn areas.
The President of South Korea arrived in Ukraine today unexpectedly, accompanied by his wife Kim Kyun-hee.
According to a statement issued by his office, President Yun Suk has arrived in Ukraine after attending the NATO summit in Lithuania.
This is the first visit of a South Korean president to Ukraine since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
He visited the cities of Bukha and Arpan, near Kiev, where hundreds of bodies of civilians were found on the streets and in mass graves.
President Yoon-seok laid flowers at the war memorial and said that Ukraine now reminds me of the South Korea of the past.
He said that South Korea had achieved a miraculous victory with international support and will gradually become the world’s largest economy.
