Russian President Vladimir Putin has authorized the Wagner paramilitary force to return to Ukraine to fight. This force will be able to operate under the leadership of Wagner, who was forced to surrender after the coup against the Kremlin.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of Wagner, who is part of Russia’s vanguard military force in Ukraine, announced a coup on June 23, but the group surrendered after threats from President Putin.

President Putin met with Wagner’s chief and other commanders in the Kremlin on June 29.

It has now been reported for the first time that President Putin praised Wagner’s efforts in Ukraine but also condemned the coup and offered him alternative jobs.

President Putin had said that one option was for the Wagner Group to re-operate in Ukraine under the leadership of its former commander, which most of Wagner’s troops agreed to, but Pigeon said officials would not be ready for that.

President Putin did not clarify what Wagner ultimately decided and whether he is being deployed to Ukraine.

Earlier, President Putin had given Wagner the option of taking a job in the Ministry of Defense, moving to Belarus or retiring.

Putin also acknowledged that billions of dollars had been given to Prevision’s company and that possible embezzlement of the funds would be investigated.

President Putin says that the country will discuss legislation related to private military organization.
