Peshawar: The Interior Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to stop the movement of Afghan refugees in the city and mobile phone service on 9 and 10 Muharram as part of the security arrangements in the province during Muharram.
According to Express News, the Interior Department has prepared a comprehensive plan for special arrangements in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to establish law and order during Muharram and has also sent letters to the institutions in this regard.
The letter states that Muharram is expected to begin on July 19, 2023, during Muharram, the movement of Afghan refugees around the city will be restricted and they will be confined to camps.
The letter states that mobile service will be suspended in Peshawar, DI Khan, Hangu, Orakzai, Karam, Kohat, Tank, Bannu, Haripur, Mansehra, Mardan, Nowshera, Lucky Marwat and Abbottabad during the 9th and 10th of Muharram. will
According to the Interior Department, a heavy police force will be deployed at the Imam Bargahs of sensitive districts, at the arrival and end of processions, while law enforcement agencies will ensure round-the-clock surveillance with security cameras in sensitive districts.
The letter states that PESCO will ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity during Muharram while the Relief Department has been instructed to provide rescue services and the Health Department has also been instructed to provide medical facilities and special duties of medical staff on an emergency basis. has been done
The Home Department said that provision of basic municipal services will also be ensured at the Town Municipal Committee (TMA) level while Section 144 will be enforced by the concerned Deputy Commissioners across the province during Muharram.
