Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has assured the Managing Director (MD) IMF that he will not tolerate the violation of the agreement.
In a telephonic conversation, the Prime Minister expressed his sincere gratitude to the Managing Director for his support and assistance in executing the recently concluded $3 billion standby contract and appreciated his leadership and professionalism.
On this occasion, he said that this government is here till August after which a caretaker government will take over and he is sure that he will continue to fulfill his duties, after the elections if the people of Pakistan re-elect his government. Committed to revitalizing the economy with the help of the IMF and development partners.
The Prime Minister mentioned the best quality mangoes of Pakistan and said that it would be an honor to send Pakistani mangoes as a gift to the Managing Director.
MDIMF said the Prime Minister made a very convincing case, even though the IMF board had in the past been skeptical of Pakistan’s commitment to meeting the terms of the agreement due to a lack of confidence. Calling Pakistan an important member of the IMF, he assured to continue helping Pakistan.
