There is a severe heat wave in the American Southwest and a heat warning has been issued for 115 million people.
The state of Arizona is likely to set a new record for extreme heat. Temperatures in Phoenix are expected to rise above 43 degrees Celsius.
According to the US Meteorological Department, the heat wave will also affect the states of Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and California.
Authorities have issued instructions to citizens to stay indoors during the afternoon hours and not to leave pets and children in cars.
