State Bank of Pakistan released details of loan and interest payments by the government.
According to the State Bank, the government paid 15 billion 662 million dollars on debt and interest in 9 months of the financial year 2022-23.
The government made an actual payment of 12 billion 639 million dollars in 9 months of FY2022-23.
The government paid 3.23 billion dollars in interest during the same period.
In the financial year 2021-22, the government paid 15 billion 10 million dollars as principal and interest.
