Conference titled 'Development of Religious Minorities is Development of Countries' in Italy

The Ambassador of Pakistan said that the issues of religious minorities should be discussed and that is the reason why we are here today.

A conference was held at the Prime Minister’s House in Italy under the title ‘The development of religious minorities is the development of countries’.

In this conference held on July 13, including political, social and religious representatives, the head of the International Humanitarian Organization Santa Giuda, Vice Prime Minister of Italy and Italian Consul General Karachi, Danilo Giordaniella, important members of the Italian Cabinet, Davide Devensi, Andrea Benzo, Paolo Formentini, Daniele Cinchellini, Sara Fomagli, Senator Stefania Picchiarelli, Ambassador of Pakistan Rome, Italy Ali Javed, Patron General Association Pakistan Italy Raja Aftab, Khadija Aftab, Chaudhry Zargham Shamshad, Syed Arsalan Shah, Advocate Sindh High Court Tabsum Yusuf, Pakistani origin of Pontifical Urbaniana University Prof. Dr. Shahid Mubeen specially attended.

The conference was organized by International Humanitarian Organization Santa Giuda and Professor Dr. Shahid Mubeen of Pontifical Urbaniana University of Pakistani origin in collaboration with the Government of Italy. Informed people about the sight.

In his address, Ambassador of Pakistan Ali Javed said that the problems of religious minorities should be discussed and this is the reason why we are here today.

He further said that Pakistan is a free country and every Pakistani is free, Pakistan is the fourth largest country in the world in terms of population, there are 267 seats in our parliament and also seats for religious minorities, so this concept that Religious minorities do not have freedom in Pakistan, it is completely wrong. Even in the 267 constituencies in Pakistan, a man or woman belonging to any religion, be it Muslim, Hindu or Christian, can contest the election.

In a special conversation with the media, Ambassador of Pakistan Ali Javed said that we were very happy to participate in this program today, all people gave their views, from which we got to learn a lot.

He said that politics and religion need to be separated, some things we see through the lens of religion but those issues are actually cultural.

The ambassador of Pakistan further said that any person who breaks any kind of law is a criminal of the law. According to the law of the state of Pakistan, the criminal should be punished regardless of religion, any man, woman or child. Belonging to any religion is not above the law.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Shahid Mubeen is doing a lot to defend the Christian community in Pakistan, we are very good Pakistanis.
