Karachi, 4-day physical remand of DSP arrested on the charge of killing a citizen

Karachi: Judicial Magistrate Gharbi has handed over the DSP, who was arrested in the case of the killing of a citizen by the firing of AVLC personnel in Manghopir, to the police on a 4-day physical remand.

In the Karachi City Court, Judicial Magistrate Gharbi heard the case of the death of a citizen due to the firing of AVLC personnel in Manghopir. The investigating officer produced DSP Qamar-ul-Zaman, who was arrested in the case, in the court.

The investigating officer said that the weapons recovered from the accused are to be forensically examined. The lawyer of the accused stated that DSP Qamar-ul-Zaman was not present on the spot. The investigating officer requested the physical remand of the accused. The court handed over the accused DSP Qamar-ul-Zaman to the police on 4-day physical remand.

The court asked the investigation officer for a progress report on the next hearing. The lawyer of the accused Waseem Rehman Advocate said in an informal conversation that my client was at his house at the time of the incident. It is common in the force to give a vehicle for snap-checking or operations. My client is going to retire in 20 days. The real accused are absconding, my client has been arrested without any reason. Lawyer Safi alleged that Shehzad, an associate of Hashim Magsi, was involved in several cases and was armed at the time of the incident.
