Romania is a member country of the European Union, which has become an attractive destination for people seeking employment opportunities abroad.
A Romanian work visa, also known as a Romanian employment visa, is issued to foreign nationals who intend to move to Romania to work for a Romanian company. This work visa is mandatory for any foreigner who is not a Swiss or European citizen, and you will get a Romanian work visa when the employer obtains a work permit on your behalf by applying to the Romanian Inspector General for Immigration.
After receiving the work permit, the applicant will apply for a Romanian work visa, and the work visa must be applied for within 60 days from the date of issue of the work permit.
Documents required for a Romanian work visa
According to the Embassy of Romania in Pakistan, the application for a Romanian work visa must be submitted with the following documents:
Passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay
Copy of Identity Card
Two recent color photographs, size 3 cm x 4 cm, taken against a white background
Filled visa application form
Letter of recommendation from a recruitment agency in Romania (if applicable)
Proof of book round trip flight ticket to Romania
Medical insurance covering the entire intended period of stay in Romania, with a minimum coverage value of 50 thousand euros (original and copy)
Original work permit issued by the Romanian Immigration Office
Proof of the availability of sufficient expenses for the duration of the stay in Romania, equivalent to a minimum guaranteed wage.
Criminal record or equivalent document issued by the authorities in your country
Proof of residence
Polio vaccination certificate

To apply for a work visa in Romania, you can visit the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A visa application form will be available on the website, follow the instructions provided and attach all the required documents.
Note that the visa application must be submitted within 60 days of receiving the work permit.
Use valid email address for online application, status of work visa application can be easily checked through official portal of Ministry of External Affairs, you need to provide your file number and password.
Work visa fees and processing time
According to the Embassy of Romania in Pakistan, the processing fee for Romanian work visa is 150 USD. And the processing time to get a work permit is at least 30 days.
