Menlopark: According to app analysts, the battle between Meta and Twitter’s parent company, X Corporation, is ongoing on many fronts, including the delivery of innovative features. Now Twitter has started testing audio and video calls to attract its users.
Under this, Twitter has started testing video and audio calls as DM (Direct Message). It is expected that sooner or later this facility will be available to users all over the world.
In this regard, Twitter designer Andrea Conway has also created a new user interface. Although it is still under construction, it can be clearly seen that it has easy access to audio and video calling. It features a call icon within the DM feed.
A few days ago, Twitter had indicated that the app was also used for money transactions and had also obtained licenses for it in three US states. This is because Elon Musk wants to change Twitter for many purposes and has used the phrase ‘everything app’ several times.
On the other hand, there are many apps that allow people to easily make audio and video calls to each other. In this regard, WhatsApp is on top with 8 times more users than Twitter. While this won’t bring WhatsApp people to Twitter, it’s possible that people who visit Threads will now want to stay connected under Twitter’s audio-video calls.
But there is still a problem of regular Twitter subscribers. Its most important features are being offered only to blue-tagged users. But despite all the facilities, only 0.3% of users are attracted towards it. It is feared that the facility of audio and video calls will also be available only to the users who spend money.
