The move to end the special status of Occupied Kashmir is being challenged in the Indian Supreme Court

The August 5, 2019 move to end the special status of Occupied Kashmir was challenged in the Supreme Court of India.

Indian Supreme Court formed a 5-member bench against the abrogation of Article 370 in Occupied Kashmir, which will hear on a daily basis from tomorrow.

According to Indian media reports, Bureaucrat Shah Faisal had filed a petition against this move, calling it unconstitutional to terminate the special status of Occupied Kashmir.

For the past 4 years, the bench has been formed and broken up due to retirement and resignation of judges.

According to media reports, constitutional experts say that after 4 years hearing on the application of fundamental rights is a slap on the face of Indian justice.

Kashmiri people including politicians, scholars and business community welcomed this decision and Kashmiri people expressed hope that the Supreme Court will declare the Modi government’s unconstitutional move null and void.

It should be noted that Article 370 provides special status to Occupied Kashmir which was abrogated by the Modi government on August 5, 2019.
