Karachi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that we know that the Sindh government does not want to proceed with the process of municipal elections.

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, while giving a press conference at Noor Haq Institute, said that it is a pity that we are doing the work that should be done by the Election Commission by holding sit-ins. We will protest.

He said that more than three weeks have passed, but despite the passage of so much time, elections have not been held in 11 seats. What should we do when the Election Commission will not listen to our legitimate arguments? If we do not get justice, we will protest.

Hafiz Naeem said that the Election Commission has taken action on six seats, we appreciate them for it, but we want the problem of these six seats to be resolved immediately. The Election Commission has an opportunity to do justice and announce these six seats immediately.

He said that we have evidence of rigging and we are also ahead in the number of USCs, our demand is that ROs and DROs should be made on the judiciary.

Hafiz Naeem said that People’s Party says that Jamaat-e-Islami should recognize our mandate, Jamaat-e-Islami recognizes your mandate but the mandate that is your original. If the mayor is elected by the common people, you will know who the citizens want to see as mayor.

He said that we got more than 9 thousand votes in a union council of Jamaat-e-Islami, on which NA people could not get 11 thousand votes, we got a huge amount of votes there.

Hafiz Naeem further said that MQM would have participated in the elections instead of criticism, what is the benefit of MQM protesting now? Elections were also held on these constituencies in 2015, were you not aware of the constituencies at that time? If those constituencies were right, why did you have a problem today?

He said that MQM-Pakistan should answer the questions we raised and then protest, if they have answers to our questions, then protest for as many days as you want, protest is for everyone. It is right.

The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi said that he expresses his condolences on the earthquake in Turkey, he is with Turkey and Syria in this difficult time. do
