In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the court of Iran, it is said that the accused Mohammad Ramiz Rashidi and Naeem Hashim Qatali were given a full opportunity to clear themselves and the full right to appeal against the sentence. The High Court had upheld the death sentence of the accused.
On the other hand, Iran’s human rights group said that confessions were coerced from the accused through torture. The requirements of transparency and fairness in legal proceedings were not met.
Iranian officials rejected the charge by human rights organizations, claiming that the suspects were arrested at the scene with weapons and that Daesh Afghanistan also claimed responsibility for the attack.
