Karachi: A man posing as a police officer to harass and threaten a woman has suspended the SHO upon his arrest.
The person who posed as SP Liaquatabad and harassed and threatened the woman through a WhatsApp call has suspended the SHO by using his relations to file a case against him and arrest him.
The Liaquatabad police registered a case against a person named Shehryar for calling a woman posing as a police officer and threatening her, in which the police called the person named Shehryar to the police station and asked him for information about the call. When obtained, he confirmed calling and speaking as SP Liaquatabad, and the police arrested Shehryar.
Police sources say that Shehryar is a close acquaintance of an officer of the West Zone and expressed anger over the police’s arrest and registration of a case against him, on which SHO Liaquatabad Sajjad Khan was suspended. Given while efforts are being made to suppress the inquiry report of the incident. The said case was registered in Liaquatabad police station on June 26 last month.
