Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says he will meet Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk next week to discuss investment in the country.

Addressing government officials yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar said that next week there will be a discussion with Elon Musk on the possibility of increasing investment in Malaysia.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim did not give further details about the proposed meeting next week.

Malaysia’s Ministry of Commerce said in March that it had given Tesla permission to import battery-powered electric cars into the country.

The Minister of Commerce said that Tesla will open its offices, showrooms and service centers in Malaysia as well as establish a network of charging stations for vehicle charging.
