Peshawar: In case of loss of life in natural calamities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the amount of aid allocated to the heirs has been doubled.
According to the notification issued by the relief department, the caretaker provincial government has increased the amount of assistance under the relief compensation act for the heirs in case of injuries and deaths in natural calamities.
According to the spokesman, in case of death due to natural calamities, the heirs will get Rs 10 lakh per person. Earlier, an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh was given to the next of kin of the deceased. Apart from this, the seriously injured will get Rs 3 lakh while other injured will get Rs 50,000.
The purpose of the revision of relief amounts is to provide adequate compensation to the victims and their families.
