Italy;  6 people died and 80 were injured in the fire in the old home

Milan: A fire broke out suddenly in a retirement home in Milan, Italy, which could not be extinguished until late at night, killing 6 people and injuring 80.

According to the World News Agency, 167 retired people lived in the old home. Two of those who died were badly burnt in the fire while 4 died due to smoke filling the room.

The cause of the fire in the old home has not yet been determined.

Dozens of them died, most of them in wheelchairs. The condition of 3 of the injured is said to be critical.

The fire started in a room on the first floor and soon the toxic smoke engulfed the whole house.

Police say that initially it appears to be an accident but all aspects will be investigated.
