Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Secretary General Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hussain Ibrahim Taha had a telephone conversation.
According to Express News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told Secretary General Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hussain Ibrahim Taha that Pakistan strongly condemns the incident that shows the heart of the Muslim Ummah. Insulting all religions, holy persons, scriptures, holy books and symbols cannot be accepted as justification.
The Prime Minister further said that it is not acceptable to name such heinous incidents as freedom of expression or protest.
He said that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman played a leadership role on the issue, and appreciated Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s role in convening the OIC meeting immediately after the reprehensible incident.
The Prime Minister further said that the OIC should prepare a comprehensive strategy as a united voice of the Islamic world to prevent such incidents. He said that OIC has to play a role to create awareness at the global level.
