A local school in the UK has apologized to parents for serving forbidden meat labeled as halal.
According to British media reports, Martin Fenton, the principal of the local school in Wakefield, UK, has written a letter apologizing to the students and parents.
He has said in a letter to parents that it was discovered last week that not all meat served to students in the past was halal.
He says that the haram meat was labeled as halal meat, which was a mistake, which he regrets that it happened.
“I know you will be very disappointed to hear this news, but I want to assure you that this was a mistake and I am very sorry that this has happened,” he said in a letter to parents.
Local school principal Martin Fenton says the school immediately changed its ordering process.
They say the school has made changes that will ensure it doesn’t happen again and has now appointed a specialist catering company.
