Karachi: The students of Aligarh Institute of Technology surprised by creating their projects for treatment using modern technology and artificial intelligence and proved that if the talents of our youth are harnessed, they can revolutionize the world of science.

According to the details, DAE projects exhibition was organized in which 290 projects prepared by 1100 students of Diploma of Associate Engineer program in 8 different disciplines are on display.

The students made portable anesthesia machine, smart robotic hand, steam engine, dual tunnel phototherapy, smart ventilator and modern motor cars at low cost. Chairman of Sindh Board Technical Education Dr. Masroor Ahmed Sheikh while appreciating the innovative and unique projects of the students said that all the ideas were very good and impressive which reflect the creativity and skills of the students.

It is the need of the hour that strong relations between the universities and the industrial sector should be established. He said that the students of our country are talented but they do not get proper guidance or platform where they can show their performance. Such exposure gives them an opportunity to showcase their skills and also motivates them.

Aligarh Institute Principal Shahid Jameel said that students should work on new concepts. There are many student projects in the exhibition which are very important and have industrial importance and can be made on a commercial basis in collaboration with any company.

Biomedical student Sidra Saeed while talking to Express said that with the help of cardboard, tendon rope, jumper wire, a smart robotic hand has been prepared at a cost of 3 thousand in a week. The smart robotic hand control system is portable and lightweight that can be attached to a wheelchair and operated through sensors in the glove. This robotic arm is designed for patients with disabilities.

The robotic hand can be controlled with the open source platform, Arduino. In this way, disabled people can improve their lives with great freedom.

Mohammad Arham, a biomedical student, has developed an anesthesia machine from 6mm acrylic sheet at a cost of 50,000. Another student of the same department, Yahya Qadir, has built a dual tunnel phototherapy machine at a cost of 167,000 rupees, which will be used for jaundice in newborn babies, which includes ultraviolet lights, two in-off touch screen buttons, There is also a temperature switch that will record the temperature of the baby and the environment. In addition, two fans have been installed. In the same system, there is also a suction blood collection tube, a light for eczema relief. A student has created ultrasonic sensor glasses for blind people. It is a special lens that is manufactured using nanocoating. It can warn of the arrival of a speeding car thanks to audio and buzzer. It uses artificial intelligence, laser light and camera technology.

Dua Hashmi has developed a safe and effective ventilator for critically ill patients. It is a mechanical ventilator that can be controlled via Bluetooth via mobile phone or app. Due to its uniqueness it can easily be used in ambulance.
