Peshawar;  Notice to parties on petition against harassment of PTI workers

Peshawar: The High Court issued notice to the parties on the petition against harassment of PTI workers and sought their response.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Abdul Shakoor and Justice Syed Arshad Ali heard the petition filed against the harassment of PTI workers.

The petitioner’s lawyer Muazzam Butt advocate argued that 231 workers of PTI have filed this petition, lists of PTI workers have been made in various police stations and their houses are being raided. Workers of a political party are being harassed and no FIR has been registered against them.

Justice Syed Arshad Ali inquired why they are being harassed. On which Muazzam Butt Advocate said that he is being harassed due to his belonging to a political party.

The court remarked that we issue notices to the parties seeking their responses. The petitioner’s lawyer said that the court should order that no action be taken against these workers, on which he directed that no one should be harassed illegally.

The court adjourned the hearing after seeking answers from the parties.
