Law Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar has said that the arrest of Chairman PTI would have been done long ago.
Speaking in Geo News’ program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath’, Azam Nazir Tarar said that if the arrest of Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman was required, laws like NAB Ordinance would have been made long ago.
He said that the decision to arrest him is subject to judicial bail, his arrest does not stop with this law nor can he be arrested because of this law.
The law minister further said that the arrest was allowed at the inquiry stage because the NAB told us that the accused were not cooperating.
He said that NAB prosecution said that they are facing difficulties, 14 days remand is very less.
Senator Azam Nazir Tarar said that there was no bail before and after arrest in the NAB law, we gave it, if someone is determined not to face the law, then the law should not be helpless.
The Law Minister said that Chairman PTI’s case in NAB has changed from inquiry to investigation, his arrest is subject to court orders.
He said that NAB has been bound to keep the evidence before the court even in writing, NAB law will not be used in every case but only in mega scandal.
Senator Azam Nazir Tarar said that many NAB cases were pending and they were facing problems. The Ordinance will come to the House, if it is passed after discussion, then it will become a permanent law, there are many people besides Nawaz Sharif.
The Law Minister said that I had said that the interpretation of the law with lifelong disqualification is not correct, the punishment and term of the crime is determined all over the world, the court cannot write the law, it is the work of the House.
