Islamabad: The federal government has issued a notification to increase the salaries of government employees in the form of ad-hoc relief, transport, deputation, additional charge and special pay and current search allowance.
The federal government has increased the salaries of government employees by 30 to 35 percent in terms of ad hoc relief allowance, besides this, the orderly allowance, conveyance allowance for disabled persons, deputation allowance, additional charge allowance and special pay, current charge allowance have also been increased. The conveyance allowance for the disabled has been increased by 100% while the orderly allowance has been increased from 17,500 rupees to 25,000 rupees per month.
According to a copy of the Finance Ministry notification available to Express, the basic pay of employees in grades one to sixteen has been increased by 35% on account of ad hoc relief allowance and the basic pay of officers in grades seventeen to twenty two on account of ad hoc relief allowance. 30% has been increased.
According to the notification, adhoc relief allowance will be given to contract employees, contingent paid employees as well. Ad Hoc Relief Allowance All federal government employees, armed forces personnel, civil armed forces and civil servants drawing salary from defense estimates will get this allowance.
The pay hike has been implemented from 1st July 2023 and income tax will be applicable on the ad hoc relief allowance received by the employees.

According to the notification, the employees will get this ad-hoc relief allowance during leave and LPR, but this allowance will not be given on extraordinary leave, this allowance will not be counted for calculation of pension, graduation and house rent. According to the notification, the employees will not get this allowance even during their deputation abroad, however, after returning from abroad, they will start getting the allowance on their appointment in their departments. The ad hoc relief allowance will be included in the personal pay of the employees.
Ministries and divisions will provide ad-hoc relief allowance to the employees from their allocated budget while no supplementary grants will be provided to the ministries and divisions for payment of ad-hoc relief allowance. The orderly allowance of S22 officers has been increased.
According to the notification, the Ordinance Allowance has been increased from Rs 17,500 to Rs 25,000 per month. Similarly, the Government has also increased the Deputation Allowance, Additional Charge Allowance and Special Pay Current Charge Allowance.
It has been stated in the notification that the rate of deputation allowance, additional charge allowance and special pay, current charge allowance has been maintained, but the maximum amount has been increased from twelve thousand to twenty thousand rupees, while the conveyance allowance for disabled persons has also been increased by 100%. Under which the conveyance allowance of disabled persons has been increased from Rs.2000 to Rs.4000.
