The caretaker government of Punjab has denied ending the health card facility

Lahore: The caretaker government of Punjab has denied the news of ending the health card facility and announced to continue it in the public interest.

Punjab’s Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir and Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram have said in a joint press conference that health card is a good initiative, they will not abolish it but want to improve it.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram said that the health card was being misused, people made so many stunts with the health card that the stunts ended in the country, people became billionaires on the health card and stunts were done unnecessarily.

Dr. Javed Akram said that the health card was misused in the past, but this will not happen now, a fund of one and a half billion rupees has been established for this.

The health minister said that now the person who pays 8 thousand electricity bill and travels abroad will not be eligible for heart treatment on the health card, also heart treatment will be free in government hospitals while 30% will have to be paid for treatment in private hospitals.

Dr Javedikaram said that the caretaker government has decided that the health card will have only the flag of Pakistan.

Caretaker Information Minister Aamir Mir said that health card is a good initiative and will not abolish it, reports emerged that the caretaker government has stopped heart treatment on health card, although this is not the case.

He said that during the previous regime, a mafia was formed in the name of health card, people became billionaires.

The Information Minister added that the health facility card was issued in 2015 during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure to provide treatment facilities to westerners, and will not close this facility.

Amir Mir said that the heart surgery facility has been targeted again.
