Paris: Violent protests erupted in France over the death of a teenager in a police shooting, and the house of Mayor Vincent Jean-Bern was set on fire during the unrest.
According to the World News Agency, despite detaining more than 2,000 people in a week across France, the protests are not only ongoing, but they are intensifying with each passing day.
Despite the deployment of 45,000 security personnel across the country, 577 vehicles and 74 properties have been burnt during the violent protests. The protesters are not ready to listen to any appeal of the government.
In the latest incident, angry protesters rammed a car into the mayor’s house, injuring the mayor’s wife and child. Later, the mayor’s house was also set on fire.
During the protests, the business centers were vandalized and looted. The police have completely failed to protect citizens and control public order.
