Riyadh: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation called an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee on Sunday over the unholy audacity of burning a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

According to Arab News, in the emergency meeting of the executive committee of the “Organization of Islamic Cooperation” representing 57 Muslim countries, this impure act will be condemned in strong words and will be discussed for its remedy.

The OIC spokesperson said that no one can be allowed to desecrate the rituals of one’s religion in the name of freedom of expression. The organization will unanimously adopt a strong position on the matter for which this meeting has been called.

It should be noted that on the first day of Eid al-Adha, 37-year-old refugee Salwan Momika dared to set fire to the Holy Quran in front of a central mosque in the capital of Sweden.

Sloan Momika performed this unholy feat under the protection of police and security forces.

On the one hand, the Swedish police said that a case of incitement against an ethnic or national group was registered against the person who burned the Quran.

On the other hand, the cursed Sloan Momika has announced to burn the copy of the Quran with the flag of Iraq in front of the Iraqi embassy in Sweden in the next 10 days.

It should be noted that there was a wave of outrage in Muslim countries over the desecration of the Holy Quran and some countries recalled their ambassadors from Sweden, while many countries summoned the ambassador of Sweden and recorded their protest.
