Islamabad: For the first time after the Murree tragedy, the unusual rush of tourists to Malika Kohsar on the Eid holidays, the district administration has temporarily closed the entry of vehicles into Murree.
According to the City Traffic Police, 19,870 tourist vehicles entered Murree during the three days of Eid, 12,070 tourist vehicles left Murree during the three days.
Traffic Police says that there are 7800 tourist vehicles in total in Murree, due to narrow highways and two-way traffic, there is a severe shortage of parking.
The traffic police say that the highways returning from Murree are being kept clear, the entrances will be opened when there is room for vehicles in Murree, there is traffic pressure on the highways due to the two-way and narrow roads.
According to traffic police officials, there is a total parking capacity of 4000 vehicles in Murree, entry of motorcyclists without helmets is also prohibited.
