Washington: Experts advise both diabetics and those on the brink of the disease that losing 10% of their weight while maintaining an exercise routine can have many medical benefits.
If you’re concerned about developing or developing diabetes, adding exercise to weight loss can double your insulin sensitivity, say experts at the Washington University School of Medicine in Seattle. This reduces the effect of pre-diabetes and diabetes can be far away from you.
According to Dr. Samuel Kline associated with the institute, insulin sensitivity is not only related to type 2 diabetes, but it also causes fatty liver, blood fats and obesity. This condition can be very well controlled with exercise and weight loss.
A number of volunteers with a BMI of 30–49 who were developing insulin resistance were included in this study. Among them were people suffering from pre-diabetes. All volunteers were divided into two groups. One group was only told to lose weight and lost about 10 percent.
The other group was reduced to the same percentage of weight and exercised regularly. People who exercised and lost weight had extraordinary gains and went away from diabetes, while insulin resistance also improved.
Therefore, pre-diabetic patients have been asked to strictly control their weight and continue exercising.
