A diet rich in vegetables can reduce diabetes

Chesterfield: A new study has found that a diet rich in vegetables can help lower blood pressure and cholesterol, improve cardiovascular health and prevent diabetes. A decrease in ((can help with remission).

According to new research published in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, people in the study whose diet included vegetables had a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.

Researchers reviewed the health records of 59 type 2 diabetes patients aged 41 to 89 years from the Cardiac Wellness Program between 2007 and 2021, who had a diet consisting of vegetables. The mean age of these patients was 71.5 years.

Blood glucose levels improved significantly in these patients, and diabetes was reduced by 37% in 37% of patients.

A diabetologist, Dr. Mary Vouchlis Kelis, said that fiber-rich foods can help lower blood sugar.
