Arizona, Texas and the South are experiencing heatwaves, with 62 million Americans affected by the heat wave.
According to the US Meteorological Department, the heat wave is likely to continue till July 4.
Citizens have been instructed to avoid sun exposure and drink plenty of water.
Texas recorded a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius yesterday. Citizens tried to beat the heat by bathing in fountains and swimming pools and eating ice cream.
