In Uttar Pradesh (UP), a Dalit citizen named Satyendra Kumar was assaulted by upper caste Hindus for cutting down trees on his land.
Satyendra Kumar’s family members say that they fear for their lives as the accused have not been arrested yet and they are being forced to leave their homes.
Most of the 70 Dalit families in UP’s Ita town have been displaced in the last 10 years. Now there are only seven Dalit families in the area, out of which four families have now been forced to leave their homes.
